How verification works

Every verified number on Afterlaunch comes from a source the founder connected, and shows that source and how fresh it is. This page explains each one.

Domains

A founder proves they control a startup's website with a DNS TXT record, a meta tag, a site badge or an email address on the same domain. We check the proof ourselves before a startup is marked verified, and the account email must be confirmed first. A startup without a verified domain never appears as verified.

Revenue

Revenue comes straight from Stripe, Lemon Squeezy, Polar or Paddle, using a key the founder creates and we only read with. Founders choose whether each figure is public, shown as a broad range, or private. A figure older than 48 hours stops showing until the next sync succeeds, so you never see a stale number presented as current. What we read from each provider.

Analytics

Visitor and signup totals come from the founder's own analytics tool, read as daily totals. They follow the same public, range or private choice and the same freshness rule as revenue. What we read from analytics tools.

Levels

There are 50 levels, each tied to a milestone we can check, such as a verified domain, connected revenue, first customers or months of growth. Levels rise only when the connected data shows the milestone, and a level can be held for review if the evidence looks wrong. Payment never buys progress. See every level.

Results

Launch results compare a startup's connected numbers in the 7 and 30 days after a launch. A result is published only once its window has closed, and only with the founder's current privacy choices. Results show what changed after a launch, not what caused it.

Research

Company research summarizes public sources such as funding announcements and company pages, with the source and date beside each figure. These are disclosures, not independently verified revenue, and they can be historical or incomplete. Newsletter sections are removed when their public evidence changes or is withdrawn, and publishing to the archive does not send email.

Marketplace

Listings are reviewed before they go live, but what a seller states, such as asking price or revenue, is the seller's claim. Afterlaunch is not a broker or escrow and does not verify those claims. Check any buyer or seller carefully before you share private details or transfer anything.

Sponsors

Sponsor cards are always labelled and never change rankings, levels, research or results. Every ad is reviewed before it goes live. Audience figures count consented browser sessions, which are not unique people, and newsletter sends are not counted as impressions.
